Painting in the Studio

My wife and I bought our house in 2007, before I started painting. There is an outbuilding in the backyard that is about 12'x20' with a little woodburning stove. This year I have been taking advantage of some indoor painting time back there, especially when it is below 15 degrees. I'm enjoying painting things that are different for me.

Just found your blog and absolutely love your paintings. Were you an artist before 2007, in some other medium? I ask because you show remarkable skill for such a short time painting. Are you only selling locally or will paintings be available online? Lots of questions. Fantastic work, and thanks for sharing.

Fantastic work...just found your blog. Only painting since 2007?? That's astonishing...were you an artist before, and where did you train? I notice the Henry Hensche quote and seems like there is some influence in your work. Are paintings available for sale online anywhere or only there locally? Thanks for sharing these painting adventures!

Hi Melle,
I really got interested in painting in 2007 or 2008, but before that I graduated from art school at MATC in Madison. There were some great instructors there, and Chris Gargan is the man who taught me the in's and out's of the palette.
I enjoy Hensche's work very much.
If you are interested in any one piece or pieces, I could send a price list. My work is up in two galleries and I'm working on a show right now. I'm going to have a post coming up this week of some new things that have been going on.
Thanks for stopping in!

Your conch shell paintings are gorgeous! I am painting a series of conch shells, and am gaining inspiration from yours. I especially love the abstract brushwork. What is your palette? thank you kindly.
